Black Light Los Angeles
Los Angeles is an amalgam of already-imagined spaces staged for public consumption. By photographically defamiliarizing such spaces I seek to reenergize my visual perception of the city, exposing latent meanings, darker moods, deeper mysteries. See also: Black Light Los Angeles: Stadium.
Process note: Although these photographs were made with a digital camera, none have been Photoshopped or otherwise altered after shooting; any alterations are done in-camera, on location, maintaining the immediacy of documentary photography.
The Black Light series, still evolving, emerged out of the more introspective experimental work I have been doing in I forget myself (I forget you).
